Kitchens and bathrooms age faster than any other part of the house. They receive daily use and the wear and tear on fixtures and surfaces is greater than in other rooms.
Styles change. Kitchen appliances, countertop materials, cabinets, cabinet accessories and features, change and improve. For example, the details that are now commonplace in a kitchen, weren't even dreamed of 20 years ago.
A rule of thumb; kitchens and bathrooms need to be updated every 15-20 years. And according to the annual Cost vs Value study by Remodeling Magazine, remodeling kitchens and baths are in the top three in terms of return on investment. If you sell your home, you'll get back more and your house will be easier to sell.
